Library

If reading is one of your past-times we have a good selection of books (including large print) and magazines in our library. Also, the WCC Household Library Service calls regularly with more choices and Talking Books.

Television Entertainment

Both of our two main lounges have large screen televisions for communal movies (we have a good film library and subscribe for others) and agreed TV programmes, such as Coronation Street and the 6pm News. We also have a number of smaller lounges throughout the home for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.

Personal Outings

Taxis used for personal outings are 50% subsidised for those who qualify following a Total Mobility assessment which is carried out by our Occupational Therapist.

Hairdressing, Reflexology and Beautician

Our hairdresser, Barb, calls weekly and brings her greyhound Fred who sits quietly in the background.  We have a visiting reflexologist, Judith, who comes weekly and massages feet with beautiful scented oils. Our beautician, Ruby Beauty, visits on a monthly basis. All of these services are available at a reasonable cost to the residents.

Laundry

Your laundry will be done at Vincentian as a part of our service. Please ensure all of your relatives clothing is named, preferably with iron on labels. Order forms for these are available at reception.  Dry cleaning can be organised but at resident's cost.

Telephone

A telephone is available for local calls. Staff will assist residents who wish to make toll calls. Such calls will be paid for by the resident.

Alternatively, all rooms have a telephone jack so it is possible to have your personal line. Line and call costs will be paid for by the resident.

Sky TV

This can be installed at the residents request but will need to be organised and paid for by the family.

WiFi

Unfortunately wifi access is limited due to the solid concrete and steel structure of the building. In the main areas of the Home it can be accessed for free and the password is available from reception.
